I'm here to show you that you don't need to be afraid! The oboe is a beautiful, rewarding instrument to play.
Does it have challenges? Of course!
RIGHT NOW YOU MAY BE EXPERIENCING...
- Being the only oboist in your school band where there aren’t many people or resources to help you improve.
- Just joining a youth orchestra or high level band, and you suddenly feel intimidated by the other musicians.
- Just recently picking up the oboe and having no idea where to begin or how to make a sound!
Bad reeds, college rejections, failed auditions, running low on self-confidence, you name it!
However, I have also been through major successes: earning degrees from top music schools, becoming a self-sufficient reed maker and performing successful solo recitals and orchestral concerts in great halls around the country.
This took hard work, perseverance, creativity, and most importantly, people by my side that understood every peak and valley of the journey.
My mission as a teacher is to be that person for you!
